GEOGRAPHY - SOUTH AMERICA

As part of our Geography topic we have been learning about the many countries that make up South America.

We worked in groups to research each South American country and then created a PowerPoint presentation to present our findings to the class.

    

 

ART - EXPLOSION ART

Year 5 have been learning how make explosion art this term.

We each took a box and then used powder paints and glitter to make our 'explosions'. Next we created the effect of a large scale space when photographing our boxes.

We hope you enjoy looking a selection of our photos as much as we enjoyed making our explosions!

  

  

 

RELIGION & WORLDVIEWS - SACRED TEXTS

In Religion & Worldviews Year 5 have been learning about sacred texts. We started by investigating who wrote the Bible, and also had a visit from Vicar Tudor Boddam-Whetham. 

Next we looked a copy of the Qur'an and tried to memorise some of the passages.

    

  

 

PSHE - BULLYING

In PSHE we have been talking about bullying, how it can affect people and how we could help someone being bullied.

As part of our discussions, we created a game of snakes and ladders based on making the right choices if we saw someone being bullied.

    

 

ART - SPACE

Our focus for our first Art topic is the Space race era of the 1950s and 1960s. We learned about the purpose and impact of images from this period, and then we investigated and tried out different styles of drawing.

    

Next we made collagraph printing plate and combined them with our Space drawings to make a futuristic looking background
