Home and School Association (HSA)

Your Committee:

• Joint Chairs - Emma Orr & Tracey Sharkey

• Secretary - Jo Etheridge

• Treasurer - Helen Little

• School Representatives - Charlotte Rennie, Alison Rowe & Charlotte Reddan.

Background:

The HSA was set up in September 2018 in response to the Government cutbacks which were contributing to deficits in school budgets. As the budget at St Michael’s was reducing, the HSA was created to help raise funds for extra-curricula activities and facilities which are often the first thing to be affected.

Who We Are and What We Do:

We are a group of parents, carers, grandparents, relatives and friends who work together to raise funds to support school activities. Every parent of a child at our school is automatically a member of the HSA, this is up to you to decide how involved you wish to be. We understand funds can be tight for families, especially with the ongoing Cost of Living Crisis and continuous increases in essential living costs such as council tax and fuel. We aim to do 1 main fund raising event each term with all proceeds going to back into school to enhance, enrich and improve the learning experience of our children.

Spending the Funds Raised:

With your support at our events, you have helped to:

• Fund coaches to transport our children on school trips

• Purchase crockery for school dinners

• Purchase benches for forest school

• Purchase the school value vinyls

• Purchase a new PA sound system

• Purchase gazebos for school events

• Purchase team T-shirts for sports day and P.E. equipment

• Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL)
