Our Year 6 pupils have been learning how to program crumbles in their Physical Computing unit. First, they began by learning how to create a code which would make a light flash on and off in different colours using one crumble, some wires, a battery pack, a USB lead, a laptop and a sparkle code. Next the children learned how to program a motor and a sparkle simultaneously.
Finally, they learned how conditions and count-controlled loops worked and used this knowledge to create a circuit to make a light sequence stop when a switch was pressed. William went one step further and changed his code so that his 'propeller blades' would move faster when the switch was pressed. While Mia and Ava programmed a car to drive.
