We had a fabulous morning on Thursday 11 October when our Reception class hosted a Coffee and Cake morning to raise money for a school trip to the wonderful Stocks Wood Outdoor Centre.

The children had been busy baking: they baked a pumpkin cake using a pumpkin kindly donated to school; carrot muffins using carrots grown in the school garden and a lemon drizzle cake, always a firm favourite.  In addition we also had some wonderful contributions from staff and some marvellous parents and grandparents so there was plenty to go around - thank you so much!  A big thank you also to the number of parents who were unable to attend, but very kindly gave a donation instead - we appreciate your generosity.

There was a good turnout with approximately 40 parents, grandparents and family members coming along to have a cuppa and a cake.  It was also a great opportunity for the children to show them around the classroom and outdoor play area and to see some of the work they have done so far.

At the end of the coffee morning we had raised a total of £215.19 which we were thrilled with, but then things got even better when the remaining cakes hit the staff room - we did plenty of business there!  To round things off, we sold the last of our fare on both the infant and junior playgrounds at the end of the day, and not a crumb was left!  The current total is now over £315 and still counting as more donations keep coming in. The money we have raised so far is easily enough to cover the cost of the trip with some left over to fund further fun things to do in Reception, so thank you once again for all your support and kind contributions.
