Year 6 spent the day as evacuees. They came to school dressed as 1940's children with their gas mask boxes and war ration packed lunches and walked to Dalston train station. After an emotional farewell on the platform they arrived in the big city of Carlisle and had to walk (again!) through the centre of town to Tullie House. The day was then spent in a series of workshops learning about World War II. Thank you to Mrs Bedford for the wonderfully atmospheric photographs.
